1st place in the Final Competition EUSO 2020

Ticket for the Science Olympiad

The 1st place in the Final Competition EUSO 2020 of Southern Greece was won by the students of the 2nd Senior High School of Ekpedeftiki Anagennisi George Efstathopoulos-Boutzounis, Maria-Niki Zografou and Argyro Kyparissi. This great success of the students ensured their participation in the 18th Natural Science Olympiad, which took place in Hrantek Kralove, Czech Republic, May 10-16, 2020.

The second phase of the competition took place on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Laboratory Center of Natural Sciences (EKFE) of Agioi Anargyroi and the award followed on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the Eugenides Foundation by the Minister of Education, Ms. Niki Kerameos.

Also, the students of our School scored first in Physics and third in Chemistry among 38 competing schools in Southern Greece, obtaining the qualification for the Natural Sciences Olympiad, as representatives of our country.

Throughout the competition, they indulged in laboratory exercises in Biology, Physics and Chemistry, and with their ally their excellent training and team spirit, they applied the laboratory protocols excellently. The total score they collected was 210/300.

The significant success continues the tradition of the last years of the Ekpedeftiki Anagennisi in the exceptional appearances and the high distinctions in the Natural Sciences Competitions and was conquered with systematics, cooperation, teamwork and detailed planning.

Throughout this process, Ms. Leoni Panagiotopoulou, Head of Laboratories of the Natural Sciences of the Ekpedeftiki Anagennisi, coordinated and organized the preparation.

Assistants in every effort and at all stages were their responsible teachers, Mrs. Leoni Panagiotopoulou – Chemist, Mr. Stamatis Papoutsis – Physicist and Dr. Antonios Krimitzas – Biologist.

Our students will be prepared for their participation in the Olympiad by their teachers both in the well-equipped laboratories of our School, and in university laboratories.
